What you'll be doing:
- Running full payroll cycles end-to-end (both weekly and monthly) for a varied portfolio of clients, ranging from SMEs through to larger, more complex businesses
- Managing pension schemes across multiple providers — from initial setup through to ongoing administration, ensuring contributions and submissions are accurate and on time
- Acting as the trusted first point of contact for clients, offering practical payroll advice and building long-term working relationships
- Handling the more technical side of the role — reconciliations, manual calculations and resolving queries that need a sharper eye
- Supporting the development of junior team members, sharing your know-how and helping them grow into their roles
- Solid background in payroll
- Strong working knowledge of current UK payroll legislation, HMRC processes and auto-enrolment
- Confident with manual calculations and able to spot and resolve discrepancies quickly
- Experience with leading payroll software (Sage, BrightPay, IRIS or similar)
- Comfortable managing your own workload and working to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills — you'll be liaising with clients regularly
- Salary up to £37,000 depending on experience
