My client is a fast-growing pioneer in renewable energy, dedicated to making clean energy simple, efficient, and accessible. Their intelligent management systems optimise behind-the-meter energy use across battery storage, solar, wind, and EV charging applications.

The Role

  • They’re  seeking a Project Design Engineer (Electrical) to drive the design and delivery of energy solutions. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and installers, taking concepts from initial design through to installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design of projects from sales handover through to delivery.
  • Produce all electrical documentation, including:
    • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
    • Wiring diagrams
    • General arrangement drawings
    • Basis of design documents
    • Installation, operation, and maintenance manuals
    • As-built drawings
  • Ensure all designs comply with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and 3rd-party installers to provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems.
  • Assist in diagnostics and resolution of installation issues.

Requirements
Experience & Technical Knowledge:

  • Electrical schemes for DC and AC systems
  • Knowledge of G99/G100 standards
  • Experience with DC/AC inverters (500kW – 2,500kW)
  • Earthing schemes for inverter systems
  • Preparing SLDs, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings
  • Developing installation and O&M manuals
  • Experience with BESS, solar, and wind installations
  • Understanding of electrical and supervisory circuitry
  • Familiarity with electrical regulations and best practices for BESS and solar

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition)
  • Experience in fast-paced, start-up environments
