Location: Sunderland with occasional travel
Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE + £5,000 Car Allowance

We’re recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join a growing engineering project delivery business operating within heavy engineering, bulk material handling and complex industrial projects across the UK and overseas.

This is a senior-level role suited to someone who can take ownership of large-scale EPC projects from start to finish, manage demanding clients and drive delivery.

Projects typically range from £5m–£10m in value across sectors including tunnelling, processing, quarrying, mining and industrial plant engineering.

The Role

  • Full lifecycle project management responsibility from order handover through to installation, commissioning and final completion
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and contractual deliverables
  • Drive project delivery across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and site installation
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout delivery
  • Manage project reporting, forecasting and commercial performance
  • Handle scope changes, variations and contractual issues professionally
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong Senior Project Management experience within heavy engineering, construction or bulk material handling environments ideally 
  • Proven EPC / fixed-price contract experience is essential
  • NEC3 / NEC4 contract knowledge highly desirable
  • Experience managing large steelwork, installation or construction-based engineering projects
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and site teams
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to protect programme, scope and margin
  • Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced project environment
  • Site-based project management experience preferred
  • Engineering qualification or relevant technical background beneficial
