Senior Purchasing Manager – Engineering
Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: up to £70,000 + bonus + excellent benefits

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a highly successful and globally recognised engineering manufacturer in the appointment of an experienced Purchasing & Stores Manager for their state-of-the-art facility in South Yorkshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and commercially astute supply chain professional to take ownership of both purchasing and internal logistics functions within a thriving international business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping supplier strategy, optimising inventory, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and executing purchasing and supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives
• Managing a £10M+ supplier spend, including contract negotiation and supplier performance management
• Building and maintaining a global, structured, and resilient supply base
• Leading cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives across materials and components
• Overseeing stores, stock control, and internal logistics to ensure accurate inventory and material flow
• Developing stocking policies to balance demand, flexibility, and cost efficiency
• Driving continuous improvement across purchasing systems, MRP processes, and logistics operations
• Supporting new product introduction (NPI) projects from a supply chain perspective
• Monitoring and improving supplier KPIs, quality, and delivery performance
• Leading, coaching, and developing both purchasing and stock control teams

About you:
• Proven experience in a senior purchasing, supply chain, or commodity management role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong background in sourcing steel, fabrications, and machined components
• Experience managing inventory, stores, and internal logistics functions
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and supply chain planning
• Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and commercial skills
• Experience working within lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
• Ability to operate strategically while maintaining strong operational control
• CIPS qualification (desirable but not essential)
