Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Company
Our client is an expanding construction business backed by a highly successful Healthcare development group, currently building a specialist in-house contracting division focused on technically complex projects.
The business delivers ultra high-end healthcare and medical developments across the South of England, with projects typically ranging between £50m and £70m in value.
With a strong pipeline of secured schemes and long-term investment behind the business, this is an excellent opportunity to join at an exciting stage of growth and play a key role in shaping the commercial function moving forward.
Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong Senior Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for a major £70m Winchester-based healthcare project.
Working closely with operational and leadership teams, you will oversee the commercial management of the scheme from procurement through to final account.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with approximately 1-2 days remote working each week.
Typical duties & responsibilities:
- Commercial management of a major construction project
- Subcontract procurement and package management
- Preparation of valuations and applications for payment
- Cost reporting and forecasting
- Variation management and commercial change control
- Managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts
- Supporting project cashflow and commercial strategy
- Attending client and commercial meetings
- Managing commercial risk and contractual compliance
- Working closely with operational teams to support project delivery
Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Person
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within main contracting
- Experience on large-scale projects ideally £20m+
- Ideally experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor
- Healthcare or technically complex M&E project experience beneficial
- Strong contractual and commercial knowledge
- Excellent reporting and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
