An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading engineering and infrastructure delivery business working on major water and wastewater capital projects across the North West.

The Opportunity
Working as part of a growing commercial team, you will support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater capital projects. You will be responsible for ensuring robust commercial management throughout the project lifecycle, helping to protect margins, manage risk, and drive successful project outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and senior commercial leaders while contributing to some of the region's most important infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, submit and agree valuations, variations, final accounts and payment certificates.
• Ensure all contractual notices are issued accurately and within required timescales.
• Complete quantity take-offs and monitor drawing revisions and scope changes.
• Track subcontractor and labour costs to maintain effective commercial control.
• Assist with risk management and cost forecasting across multiple projects.
• Support the procurement process, including subcontract tendering and order placement.
• Monitor material purchases and expenditure against project allowances.
• Deliver commercial performance in line with agreed project margins and objectives.
• Provide timely reporting on commercial risks, opportunities and cost issues.
• Support the wider commercial team with all aspects of quantity surveying and contract administration.
About You
We're looking for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment and thrives on delivering successful infrastructure projects.
You will ideally have:
• A minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience and/or a relevant professional qualification.
• Strong experience working under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
• Experience working as either a Contractor to Client or Subcontractor to Main Contractor.
• Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
• Flexibility to work in a site-based role and support projects across the North West region.
Desirable Experience
• Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation (ME&I) project experience.
• Experience using Oracle-based commercial systems.
• Previous experience within the water, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
