Shift pattern:
160 hours per month (average 40 hours per week)
Rota basis: 2 days on + sleep-in, followed by 4 days off

Priority Recruitment are excited to present this long-term Senior Residential Care Worker opportunity in Wiltshire.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who can lead by example, support a staff team, and provide high-quality care. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career and make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives.

Company and Role:

  • Supporting children and young people in a residential care setting
  • Leading shifts and supporting the staff team

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Leading shifts and supporting team members to deliver high-quality care
  • Supporting the Home Manager and deputising in their absence
  • Supervising staff and supporting performance and development
  • Ensuring safeguarding and child protection standards are upheld at all times
  • Supporting children with daily routines, activities, and emotional wellbeing
  • Acting as a positive role model for both young people and staff
  • Contributing to care planning and attending reviews/meetings
  • Supporting behaviour using appropriate strategies and therapeutic approaches
  • Liaising with external professionals such as social workers, schools, and therapists
  • Supporting the induction and development of new staff
  • Ensuring health & safety procedures and risk assessments are followed
Household responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with the day-to-day running of the home
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
  • Promoting a healthy lifestyle for children and young people
  • Ensuring the home environment is safe, structured, and welcoming
Successful Candidate:

  • Previous experience working in children’s residential care (essential)
  • Experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to lead shifts and support a team effectively
  • Calm, resilient, and confident approach
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
