Overview
A Senior Site Engineer is required for a six-month fixed-term contract within the Northern Home Counties business unit, working with a Tier 1 Contractor. The role will support delivery on two major schemes initially before moving onto one project. This is a site-based position suited to an engineer with strong technical capability and experience in complex structures, including CAT 3 basement works.

About the Role
The Senior Site Engineer will support the Project Team with day-to-day engineering duties and ensure all works are delivered in line with client requirements. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings and specifications, checking setting out, monitoring retained structures, managing deep excavations and overseeing cut and fill modelling. The role also covers stabilisation checks, piling tolerance recording and inspections of reinforced concrete elements.

The Senior Site Engineer will provide technical information to support commercial review of subcontractor analysis, report any survey deviations to the Project or Contracts Manager and maintain all required systems and procedures. The position requires strong awareness of health and safety standards, accurate record keeping and proactive engagement with the changing status of the project. The Senior Site Engineer will also support method statement approval, compliance monitoring and provide technical advice to the wider team.

Experience Required
Experience delivering complex structural works
Experience of a CAT 3 basement build
Strong understanding of construction techniques and sequencing
Experience working on large scale schemes

What We Are Looking For
A Senior Site Engineer with a solid technical background, strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy project team. A CSCS card is required, with SMSTS or SSSTS preferred. The successful candidate will be committed, organised and able to maintain high standards of quality, safety and delivery.
