Senior Site Manager

Our client is a highly respected Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong presence across the Midlands, delivering high-profile projects across a diverse range of sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to join their established production team.

The Role

As Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major construction projects across the West Midlands. You will lead site operations from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will take ownership of site activities, drive programme performance, and lead teams to achieve exceptional project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of projects or major work packages
• Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities in line with programme requirements
• Monitor progress against key milestones and proactively address any issues or delays
• Ensure effective sequencing and coordination of trades, labour, and subcontractors
• Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture across site operations
• Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and company procedures
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Manage incident reporting and implement corrective actions where required
• Lead, mentor, and support Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, and site teams
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance working environment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
• Chair site progress meetings and provide clear reporting on project performance

Education, Skills and Requirements

• HNC / HND / NVQ Level 6/7 or Degree in a Construction-related discipline
• Proven experience operating as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within the construction industry
• Demonstrable experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects
• Previous experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor is highly desirable
• Sector experience across education, commercial, industrial, or healthcare projects
• SMSTS Certification
• Valid Black CSCS Card
• Strong planning, coordination, and organisational skills
• Excellent understanding of construction methodology and industry best practice
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making ability
