Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Senior Social and Environmental Business Partner to lead sustainability strategy, delivery, and innovation across its Healthcare sector.
Job Overview
This is a high‑influence, national role suited to an individual with deep expertise in sustainability and social value, combined with strong collaboration, communication, and project leadership skills. The postholder will act as the sector specialist, shaping best practice and driving measurable environmental and social impact across healthcare contracts.
Working closely with operational and functional teams, the role focuses on translating strategic sustainability objectives into practical, consistent delivery. You will ensure sustainability commitments are met in line with client expectations, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements, while also promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Social and Environmental Sustainability subject matter expert for the healthcare sector
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of sector‑wide sustainability programmes
- Drive sustainability strategy across carbon reduction, waste management, and social value initiatives
- Ensure consistent delivery of sustainability best practice across healthcare contracts
- Manage sustainability plans, including performance monitoring, data analysis, and reporting
- Support operational teams in achieving sustainability KPIs, targets, and contractual commitments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and sector partners
- Promote innovation and maintain awareness of emerging legislation and market trends, with national travel to support delivery
Person Specification
- Significant experience in sustainability and/or social value roles
- Proven track record of delivering environmental and social impact programmes
- Experience within healthcare or government contracts is desirable
- Knowledge of the facilities management or built environment sector is preferred
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and environmental topics, including carbon, energy, water, waste, and biodiversity
- Good knowledge of UK sustainability legislation, regulations, and industry trends
- Ability to translate technical sustainability concepts into practical operational solutions
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel nationally to healthcare client sites
