Senior Substation Secondary (P&C) Design Engineer

Copello Global seeking numerous Senior Substation Secondary (P&C) Design Engineers with a strong understanding of electrical engineering, power systems, and energy markets to join an organisation on an initial 12-month contract.

As the Senior Substation Secondary (P&C) Design Engineer responsibilities include:

• Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and project stakeholders
• Working collaboratively both on client sites and within office environments
• Understanding client requirements and converting opportunities into successful workstreams
• Providing technical leadership on FEED and Detailed Design projects for:
• Ensuring quality assurance and technical governance across all P&C design deliverables, including
• Supporting team resourcing, capability development, and technical training
• Reviewing P&C project deliverables, including:
  • Protection schemes
  • Settings and coordination studies
  • Substation automation architectures
  • I/O lists and interface drawings
  • Control room layouts
  • Marshalling cabinets
  • Protection panels
• Managing tender packages and responding to technical queries
• Producing high-quality P&C technical proposals and offers
• Chairing and attending:
  • Design Review meetings
  • Hazard Review meetings
• Reviewing P&C plant design packages and attending client site visits as required
• Demonstrating strong communication, teamwork, and customer-focused skills
• Supporting business development opportunities through strong client engagement

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Protection & Control (P&C) Design
• Experience working on transmission or distribution projects, preferably up to 400kV (not essential)
• A minimum 2:2 BEng degree in either Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or similar disciplines

This role is inside IR35 paying circa £60 per hour.

Position can be based in either Glasgow, Leeds, Epsom or Birmingham.
