Senior Building Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor – South Wales

The Company

Our client is an independent construction consultancy with an established presence across South Wales and the South West. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint either a Senior Building Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to undertake a Project Manager / Employer's Agent role within the business.
The consultancy works across a range of affordable housing and public sector developments, providing professional services from project inception through to completion. Their client base is built largely on repeat business and long-standing relationships, reflecting their collaborative approach and consistent project delivery.

The Role

The successful Senior Building Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing projects through both pre-construction and delivery phases, acting as a key link between clients, consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acting as Employer's Agent and Project Manager across a range of developments
  • Preparing and administering contract documentation
  • Managing projects through both pre- and post-contract stages
  • Chairing project meetings and producing progress reports
  • Monitoring contractor performance against programme, quality and compliance requirements
  • Managing valuations, variations, project costs and final accounts
  • Supporting project handover and defects management processes
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships throughout project delivery
About You

To be considered, you will have:
  • MRICS qualification or be working towards Chartership
  • Previous experience within an Employer's Agent, Building Surveying or Quantity Surveying role
  • Experience delivering residential and/or commercial projects
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage projects independently while working effectively within a wider team
  • A proactive approach and strong attention to detail
