About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (MBSE Specialist) to support a major programme within the UK nuclear sector. This role is critical in driving the adoption and maturity of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), ensuring robust system models, improving integration, and enabling informed decision-making across complex engineering environments.

You will work at the forefront of highly regulated, safety-critical systems, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering insights.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, including:
    • Requirements management
    • Interface definition
    • Trade studies
    • Cross-discipline integration and analysis
  • Maintain the integrity, consistency, and usability of complex engineering models
  • Improve model deployment, reporting, and visualisation for diverse stakeholders
  • Support the integration of MBSE models with wider engineering tools and systems
  • Develop and analyse performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Engage with stakeholders across business and technical teams, including senior leaders and subject matter experts
  • Develop and implement verification and validation strategies, ensuring:
    • Data accuracy
    • Traceability
    • Reliability
  • Maintain and support SQL databases, ensuring high levels of data integrity and availability


Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain complex engineering models
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, and visualisation tools
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in verification and validation (V&V) within engineering environments


Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible for high-level UK security clearance
  • Experience within defence, nuclear, or other highly regulated sectors is highly desirable
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite in Reading
