About the Role


We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Designer to lead the technical development and coordination of commercial workplace projects from concept through to completion.


Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams, you will ensure design concepts are translated into practical, compliant and buildable solutions while maintaining quality, programme and budget objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the technical delivery and coordination of projects through all design and construction stages.
  • Produce and review technical design packages, drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP and specialist consultant information to ensure fully integrated design solutions.
  • Translate design concepts into practical, compliant and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Lead technical reviews, design coordination meetings and BIM processes, including clash detection.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, risks and coordination issues throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, CDM requirements, health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Support planning, statutory approvals and construction-stage activities, including RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members while promoting technical best practice and quality standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.


Requirements:


  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in technical design and project delivery within commercial interiors, workplace, design and build or multidisciplinary environments.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and BIM coordination software.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing and technical design standards.
  • Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within fast-paced project teams.
  • Experience within commercial fit-out or workplace design projects.
  • Knowledge of BREEAM, WELL or LEED standards.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations, Building Safety requirements and design risk management.
