As Service Desk Team Leader / Manager you should have some either come from a technical background or have previously worked as a Service Desk Team Leader and are looking for that next step up to Service Desk Manager within an IT environment and have enough of an understanding of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line Service Desk duties.
Successful Service Desk Team Leader / Manager needs to have excellent communication skills, solid experience of managing an IT Service desk team, be good with mentoring and nurturing staff, as well as working to and setting KPI’s & SLAs.
As Service Desk Team Leader / Manager you should also have excellent customer service skills as there is a high level of interaction with customers, clients and sometimes stakeholders. Ideally Service Desk Team Leader / Manager would be responsible for Problem Management, People Management, Leadership Collaboration and preferably be able to assist with technical help if needed as well as Monitoring of the Service Desk Performance.
