We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join a well-established independent garage in Leighton Buzzard. Our client is seeking a highly experienced Service Manager to lead their busy workshop and drive continued success within their growing business. This role offers genuine autonomy, allowing the successful individual to shape department performance and foster team development.

  • Working hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, with 1 in 2 Saturdays
Duties of a Service Manager:
  • Full responsibility for managing workshop operations and workflow
  • Leading, motivating, and developing technicians and front-of-house staff
  • Managing job allocation, bookings, and workshop throughput to optimise productivity
  • Ensuring high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining effective communication between workshop and service reception
  • Driving improvements in efficiency, profitability, and overall workshop performance
  • Upholding high health and safety standards within the workshop environment
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Controller, or in a senior workshop role
  • Strong background in a busy workshop environment, independent or franchise dealership experience preferred
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a hands-on management style
  • Confident in managing technicians, customer relationships, and high workload pressures
  • Commercially aware with a focus on profitability and efficiency
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and develop a team to meet and exceed performance targets
