Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setting Out Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role focuses primarily on internal setting out and high-precision laser work using Leica equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, quality assurance, and smooth project delivery across a range of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out internal setting out works to a high level of accuracy
- Operate and maintain Leica surveying and laser equipment
- Conduct detailed QA checks and ensure compliance with project specifications and tolerances
- Interpret drawings, models, and specifications to guide site works
- Mark out and spray lines/points clearly and accurately as required
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and management to ensure alignment on project requirements
- Maintain clear and accurate records of setting out data and QA documentation
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, ideally with a focus on internals
- Strong proficiency with Leica equipment and laser-based setting out methods
- Solid understanding of QA processes and documentation in construction
- Experience with spraying/marking out on site
- Background in construction or building projects preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience working on large-scale or complex build projects
- Familiarity with digital setting out tools and software
- Relevant qualifications in surveying, engineering, or construction
