Sewing Machinist

Thrive Personnel Ltd are recruiting a Sewing Machinist on behalf of a leading furniture manufacturer dedicated to crafting high-quality, stylish furniture.

Hours of work 7.30am - 4pm Monday to Thursday 3pm finiish Friday.

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sewing Machinist to operate and maintain industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality furniture upholstery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sewing techniques, fabrics, and patterns, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing excellent work.

Responsibilities:

Operate industrial sewing machines to sew upholstery for furniture products.

Read and interpret patterns and instructions to accurately cut and sew fabric.

Select appropriate threads, needles, and machine settings for different fabrics and sewing operations.

Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.

Perform routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating.

Ensure all work meets quality standards and production deadlines.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist, preferably in a furniture manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines.

Ability to read and interpret patterns and instructions.

Strong knowledge of different fabrics, threads, and sewing techniques.

Excellent attention to detail and quality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and problem-solving skills.
