Job Title: Shunter Driver – Permanent Nights
Location: Runcorn
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off – Permanent Nights
Salary: £36,724.80 per annum + Night Shift Premium of £3,084.88
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Shunter Driver to join a well-established and fast-paced production and distribution operation based in Runcorn. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent night shift role within a nationally recognised manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement of trailers across site, supporting warehouse and logistics operations in a busy 24/7 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Moving trailers safely and efficiently around the yard and loading bays
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers in line with site procedures
- Ensuring trailers are positioned correctly for loading and unloading
- Carrying out vehicle and trailer safety checks
- Liaising with warehouse, transport, and operational teams to maintain workflow
- Supporting site health and safety standards at all times
- Reporting defects, damages, or operational issues promptly
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
- Previous experience as a Shunter Driver or Yard Driver is essential
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence preferred
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card preferred
- Strong understanding of health and safety within a logistics or manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Comfortable working permanent night shifts on a 4 on 4 off rotation
