A highly regarded engineering and technology organisation operating within the defence sector is looking to recruit a Simulation Systems Engineer to support advanced real-time simulation and test environments used in complex system development programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer seeking a hands-on technical role with exposure to mechanical, hydraulic, electronic and simulation-based systems.

The Role

As a Simulation Systems Engineer, you will support the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of complex simulation facilities and associated control systems. The role combines practical engineering activities with fault-finding, systems analysis and technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the operation and maintenance of multi-axis motion and positioning systems
• Maintaining simulation and control equipment to ensure operational readiness
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault resolution
• Interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Assisting with integration and testing activities within real-time simulation environments
• Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Contributing to continuous improvement and facility optimisation initiatives

This is a varied role requiring adaptability, strong technical judgement and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.

Skills & Experience

Candidates with experience in some of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

• Hydraulic or electro-mechanical systems
• Mechanical or electrical fault finding
• Control systems or automation principles
• CAD software (CREO experience advantageous)
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
• Hands-on workshop or practical engineering skills
• Use of maintenance or management information systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
• Comfortable working in physically active engineering environments, including at height where required

Qualifications

Ideally degree qualified within one of the following disciplines:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronics & Robotics
• Aeronautical Engineering
• Electronic Engineering
• Or a closely related engineering subject
