Location: Greater Manchester initially, with projects throughout the North West

About the Role

Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundworks projects across the North West. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent to join their operational team.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience managing civil engineering and groundworks projects, with a strong background in drainage, highways, reinforced concrete, remediation and hard landscaping works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and coordinating labour, subcontractors and plant resources on site
  • Managing day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Promoting and maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Leading site teams and setting a professional example at all times
  • Ensuring quality standards are achieved and maintained throughout project delivery
  • Monitoring site performance and resource utilisation
  • Assisting with cost control and weekly project reporting
  • Maintaining and updating project programmes using MS Project
  • Ensuring accurate site records and electronic documentation are maintained
  • Managing waste reduction initiatives and promoting efficient working practices
  • Ensuring sites remain safe, organised and presentable at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience within civil engineering and groundworks projects
  • Experience managing works including drainage, highways, reinforced concrete and remediation
  • HNC/HND qualification or higher in a relevant discipline
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • SMSTS qualification
  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management requirements
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and project management software
  • Full UK Driving Licence
