Site Agent - Civil Engineering Projects
Are you a confident Site Agent looking to take ownership of civil engineering schemes in Bowburn, Durham, and lead safe, well-organised project delivery? My client is looking for a capable, proactive professional who can manage site operations, support project teams and keep works moving to programme, quality and commercial expectations.
My client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering schemes typically ranging from £100k to £5m. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys being close to the work, supporting colleagues, solving problems and taking pride in delivering projects safely and efficiently.
As a Site Agent, you will be managing the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering schemes, ensuring works are planned, resourced and delivered in line with programme requirements. You will be carrying out inductions and toolbox talks, developing and reviewing RAMS, supporting temporary works requirements, drafting construction phase plans and leading by example on health, safety and environmental standards.
You will be working closely with engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, subcontractors and clients. You will be developing weekly programmes, monitoring progress, calling off materials, managing information flow, raising technical queries and helping identify risks and opportunities. You will also be preparing daily and weekly progress reports, supporting monthly reporting, chairing meetings and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
You will need a strong civil engineering background, with experience delivering schemes of a similar value. My client is looking for someone with an HNC, HND, degree or equivalent civils qualification, good IT skills, a CSCS card at minimum Gold standard and a 5-day SMSTS qualification. First Aid at Work would be desirable, along with a UK driving licence that is clean or low on points.
You will be well suited to this Site Agent role if you communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure and take a professional, approachable and honest approach with colleagues, clients and customers. You will be comfortable making decisions within your level of authority, supporting engineers, encouraging others and adapting your communication style to different people on site.
Salary is £60,000 dependent on experience, with the wider package to be discussed based on your background and suitability for the role.
Based in Bowburn, Durham, you will be joining a role where you can continue developing your technical, commercial and leadership skills across civil engineering projects. You will gain exposure to programme management, NEC/JCT contract requirements, commercial reporting, subcontractor management, quality assurance and client-facing delivery.
This Site Agent opportunity is ideal for someone who wants responsibility, variety and the chance to make a visible impact on site. To be considered, please apply with your CV or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
