Site Agent

A well-established groundworks subcontractor are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Agent to oversee a 278 works scheme in Northumberland. 

The Role

• Manage day-to-day site operations for S278 highway works.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Maintain programme and ensure works are delivered to schedule.
• Liaise with local authority highways officers, utilities, and stakeholders.
• Oversee traffic management, drainage, kerbing, surfacing, and street works.
• Ensure compliance with permit schemes and road space bookings.
• Manage site documentation, RAMS, and reporting.
• Monitor budgets and assist with cost control and forecasting.

Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer on highways or civil engineering schemes.
• Strong knowledge of Section 278 highway works and local authority processes.
• Experience delivering highways infrastructure projects (junction improvements, drainage, footways, carriageway works etc.).
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams.
• Good understanding of CDM regulations and health & safety legislation.

Remuneration:

• £325.00 per day (dependent on experience)
