Site Agent
Randstad Construction and Property
We are currently recruiting for a Site Agent (Major Structures) to join a tier-one main contractor on a flagship civil engineering scheme based in Oxford. This is a brilliant opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile, complex project from the ground up, working within a highly supportive and dynamic regional team where structural precision is paramount.
The Role
As Site Agent, you will be the driving force on-site - managing day-to-day operations, ensuring engineering excellence, and leading a dedicated delivery team to bring this major infrastructure project over the line. Your day-to-day will involve:
Site Leadership: Managing and coordinating all on-site civil and structural engineering operations, sub-contractors, and direct labor.
Project Delivery: Driving the project programme forward, ensuring work is delivered to the highest quality specifications, on time, and within commercial parameters.
HSEQ Management: Championing an impeccable health, safety, and environmental culture on site, ensuring full compliance with RAMS and industry legislation.
Technical Oversight: Reviewing engineering drawings, method statements, and temporary works designs, resolving any technical issues efficiently.
Stakeholder Engagement: Acting as a key point of contact for the client, local authorities, and the wider project management team.
Essential Requirements
Due to the technical demands and scale of this project, we can only consider candidates who meet the following criteria:
Structures expertise: Direct experience managing the successful delivery of a £20m+ bridge or major structural project from inception to completion. Structures experience is essential.
Civil Engineering Background: A degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent construction qualification).
Site Ready: A valid SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid at Work.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a diverse site team and sub-contractor supply chain.
Commercial Acumen: A strong understanding of cost control, variations, and NEC contract management.
