Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a major port redevelopment project in Stanford-le-Hope. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting out works accurately, coordinating site activities, and managing subcontractors to ensure delivery in line with programme, quality, and safety standards.
** Freelance (CIS / self-employed – no limited company engagement)
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out precise setting out for civil and marine works
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors on site
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme and deadlines
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks
- Keep accurate records, including as-built information and daily reports
- Liaise with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on infrastructure or port/marine projects
- Strong setting out skills using relevant equipment (e.g. GPS, total station)
- Experience managing subcontractors and site operations
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- CSCS card (essential)
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
