I'm currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established civil engineering company, who are looking for a Site Engineer to work across Yorkshire and the North East.
The role involves supporting the delivery of highways and civil engineering schemes, including setting out and site-based quality duties. Works will include drainage, kerbing, paving, and surfacing packages.
Duties
- Core site engineering responsibilities, including precise setting out of works using engineering drawings, specifications, and control points.
- Deliver key elements of external civil works, such as pavement construction, road surfacing, kerb laying, and drainage installation, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory standards.
- Operating Leica TS16 Total Station and GPS surveying equipment for accurate spatial data capture and layout, supporting high-precision construction.
- Coordinate daily operations with subcontractors and site teams
- Manage the full project cycle of assigned tasks from site setup to final handover and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Interpret and implement technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments, contributing to safe and efficient on-site execution.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- CSCS card
- Proven experience in setting out and site engineering on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in using surveying instruments such as Leica Total Stations (e.g., TS16) and GPS equipment.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site health & safety, and quality assurance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Competent in AutoCAD and basic site documentation/reporting.
