Site Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways and earthworks scheme based in Newcastle. This is a long-term opportunity offering competitive rates and an immediate start on a high-profile infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out for highways and earthworks packages including bulk earthworks, drainage, and road construction
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with design specifications and project requirements
• Carrying out QA checks and maintaining accurate site records and documentation
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams
• Producing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
• Managing as-built surveys and ensuring records are up to date
• Supporting site operations to ensure programme targets and deadlines are achieved

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways and/or earthworks projects
• Strong setting out skills using GPS and Total Station
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Valid CSCS card
• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

• Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of QA processes and documentation control
• SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous)
