We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major earthworks project based in Milton Keynes. This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering an immediate start and a strong pipeline of work.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all setting out and engineering duties across a live earthworks package, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for earthworks and associated civils works
- QA checks and as-built surveys
- Managing cut/fill operations and volume calculations
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Coordinating with site management and subcontractors
- Maintaining site records and health & safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience working on earthworks or heavy civils schemes
- Competent using GPS and robotic total station equipment
- Strong understanding of bulk earthworks operations
- CSCS card essential
- SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
- Able to work independently and manage daily engineering activities
Contract Details
- Location: Milton Keynes
- Duration: 6 Months
- Start Date: ASAP
- Rate: £300 – £350 per day DOE
