My client is seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to join a flagship 2000-unit residential development in Suffolk. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role on one of the region’s largest and most high-profile housing projects, delivering a high-quality, sustainable community at scale.
You will take ownership of a defined phase or multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery is on programme, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations across a large residential scheme
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors and site teams
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations (CDM) and company procedures
- Drive programme delivery, identifying and mitigating risks to progress
- Maintain strict quality control and oversee snagging and handover processes
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Commercial team, and Technical teams
- Monitor site logistics, materials, and resource planning
- Ensure excellent standards of site presentation and organisation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, and residents
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale residential developments
- Experience working on multi-phase, high-volume housing schemes (500+ units desirable)
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and site management practices
- Relevant qualifications (SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, First Aid at Work)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage fast-paced environments and multiple contractors
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality delivery
Desirable
- Experience with timber frame, RC frame, or traditional build methods
- NHBC / LABC standards knowledge
- Previous involvement in large masterplan communities or urban extensions
