The Opportunity

An established and growing construction business is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its operational team and oversee the successful delivery of a range of high-value construction projects.

Working across a diverse portfolio including commercial, healthcare, education, refurbishment, and new-build schemes, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of construction sites from inception through to completion
  • Lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
  • Monitor programme performance and proactively address any issues impacting delivery
  • Maintain high standards of quality throughout all stages of construction
  • Ensure compliance with all current health and safety legislation, company procedures, and industry regulations
  • Coordinate material deliveries, plant requirements, and site logistics
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and project progression
  • Manage inspections, snagging processes, and quality control procedures through to handover
  • Support the commercial and project management teams in achieving successful project outcomes
  • Ensure all documentation and site records are maintained accurately and efficiently

Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Site Manager within a main contractor environment
  • Proven track record delivering construction projects within live operational environments
  • Experience managing projects across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, residential, or refurbishment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Sound understanding of construction methodologies, programming, and site logistics
  • Good knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain positive working relationships

Qualifications

Essential:

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work

Desirable:

  • Relevant construction-related qualification
  • Temporary Works experience
