Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We’re currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across schools in Leicester.

This is a rewarding role where you’ll be helping children feel supported, confident, and able to engage with learning. Support may be on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, depending on the needs of the school.

What the role involves

  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
  • Helping children stay engaged and focused during the school day
  • Providing reassurance, routine, and encouragement
  • Working closely with teachers and SEN staff
  • Creating a positive and supportive learning environment

What we’re looking for

To be considered, you should have at least 6 months’ experience working with children with SEN, or experience in a similar role such as:

  • Teaching Assistant
  • Learning Support Assistant
  • Care / Support Worker
  • Youth Worker
  • Residential Support Worker

We’re looking for people who are patient, reliable, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.

The details

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire
Hours: Full-time / Part-time options available
Pay: £92.63 - £100.00 per day (depending on experience)

You’ll be working through a SEND-specialist education recruitment agency, matching strong support staff with local schools.

All roles are subject to enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
