Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Term Time Only

We are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment, working with students aged 11-19 years who have a range of complex needs.
This is a rewarding role where you will support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them access education and develop essential life skills.
About the Role
You will be working with students who may have:
- PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
- SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
- LD (Learning Disabilities)
- Non-verbal communication needs
Some students will require personal care and manual handling, so confidence and willingness in these areas are essential.

Makaton experience is highly desirable but not essential.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one. Can recieve a refund after 20days of working
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
- Willingness to support with personal care and manual handling
