Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Aylesbury
Salary: £100-£120 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment, working with students aged 11-19 years who have a range of complex needs.

This is a rewarding role where you will support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them access education and develop essential life skills.

You will be working with students who may have:

• PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
• SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
• LD (Learning Disabilities)
• Non-verbal communication needs

Some students will require personal care and manual handling, so confidence and willingness in these areas are essential.

We are looking for someone who:

• Can build strong, trusting relationships with students
• Takes a genuine interest in students' lives and wellbeing
• Is resilient and able to pick themselves up quickly in challenging situations
• Is committed to making each student's day better
• Works well as part of a team

Makaton experience is highly desirable but not essential.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one. Can recieve a refund after 20days of working
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
• Willingness to support with personal care and manual handling
