SSSTS Site Supervisor (Roofing Works) – Job Specification

Role Overview

We are seeking a SSSTS-qualified Site Supervisor to oversee roofing works on live construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing operatives, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all roofing activities (flat, pitched, or specialist systems depending on project)
• Manage site operatives, subcontractors, and deliveries
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, RAMS, and company procedures
• Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks
• Monitor quality of installation and ensure works meet specifications and drawings
• Coordinate programme of works to meet deadlines
• Liaise with Site Managers, clients, and other trades on-site
• Ensure correct use of PPE and safe working practices (working at height critical)
• Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports and H&S documentation
• Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently

Essential Requirements

• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – valid
• Proven experience supervising roofing projects
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Working at height regulations
  • Roofing systems (e.g. felt, single ply, tiles, slates, liquid coatings)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Good leadership and communication skills
• CSCS Card (Supervisor level)
• First Aid at Work (preferred)
