Steel Fixer

We are looking for experienced Steel Fixers to support the delivery of a major rail station infrastructure project involving reinforced concrete and structural civils works.

Duties will include:

• Fixing reinforcement steel for:
  • Lift pits
  • Retaining walls
  • LB beams
  • Pre-cast concrete units
  • Foundations and structural concrete elements
• Reading and interpreting reinforcement drawings and bending schedules
• Cutting, bending and tying steel reinforcement to specification
• Installing mesh, cages, dowels and starter bars
• Working closely with shuttering carpenters and concrete gangs
• Ensuring reinforcement is positioned correctly before concrete pours
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality on site

Requirements:

• Blue CSCS Card – Steel Fixer
• Proven experience on RC frames or heavy civils projects
• Ability to read and work from reinforcement drawings
• Experience with large structural pours and retaining structures
• PTS preferred
• Strong understanding of safe lifting and manual handling procedures
