Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (M1 to UPS3)

Monarch Education are working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in South Gloucestershire (BS15), part of a respected multi-academy trust, to recruit a committed and experienced Subject Leader of Design and Technology. This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity to cover maternity leave.

The Role

As Subject Leader of Design and Technology, you will:

• Lead and develop the Design and Technology curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Inspire and support pupils to achieve excellent outcomes in a practical and creative subject area
• Manage and support members of the department, fostering a collaborative culture
• Drive improvements in teaching, learning, and assessment within the subject
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
• Contribute to whole-school development and enrichment opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a candidate who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Has strong subject knowledge within Design and Technology
• Has experience of leading or supporting leadership within a department (or is ready to step up)
• Demonstrates a passion for teaching and curriculum development
• Has excellent organisational and communication skills
• Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for all students
