An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Supply Chain Director to lead and transform its end-to-end supply chain operation.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for developing a resilient, efficient and scalable supply chain strategy that supports operational excellence, customer satisfaction and long-term business growth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping procurement, planning, logistics, inventory management and supplier performance across a complex manufacturing environment.
The business is looking for a confident and credible leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a high-performing supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives
- Lead procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics and inventory functions across multiple sites
- Build strong supplier relationships whilst improving cost, quality, delivery and risk management performance
- Drive operational efficiencies, continuous improvement initiatives and service excellence throughout the supply chain
- Improve forecasting, demand planning and stock optimisation processes
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, finance and commercial teams to support business priorities
- Lead and develop a capable supply chain team, fostering accountability, collaboration and high performance
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring resilience and continuity of supply
- Support strategic growth initiatives, including new product introduction and operational expansion
- Deliver meaningful reporting and insights to the senior leadership team
Profile:
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished supply chain leader with significant experience within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven success in a senior supply chain leadership position
- Strong strategic planning and operational execution capability
- Experience managing complex supplier networks and international supply chains
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- A track record of delivering measurable improvements in cost, efficiency and service performance
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to influence at executive level and lead organisational change
- Experience within fast-paced manufacturing or engineering sectors would be highly advantageous
- Degree qualified or professionally accredited within supply chain, operations or a related discipline
