Support Worker Full Time
IDirect Independent Living · Direct employer
The role
You will support the same two or three people in their own homes. No care calls. No rushing between visits. Your day is about the person you support.
You will get to know what helps them and what does not. What a good day looks like. What they want to do, who they want to see, what they find hard. If they do not feel like going out today, you will have the time and the trust to work out what makes sense instead.
Shift patterns are built around the person you support, so we will work with you to find a pattern that fits your life too. We take care matching support workers to the people we support, so relationships start on the right footing.
Who we are
We have supported adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health conditions to live independently in their own homes for over a decade. We have no external shareholders. The people we support, and the people doing the supporting, are who we answer to.
Why people stay with us
- You stay with the same two or three people
- Managers are approachable and present
- You can raise concerns and are heard
- Clear career pathways
- We help you grow with the right training
Who we are looking for
Experience in social care, mental health, or autism is welcome, but not essential. We will train you.
What matters more is that you notice things. A lot of this job is paying attention – to how someone is today, what they are not saying, what has changed. The rest tends to follow from that.
A UK driving licence is preferred.
