Team Leader/Senior Support Worker– Children’s Residential Care

🔥 The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a well-established provider of children’s residential care, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

This is a key role within the home, working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy to lead a team, maintain high standards, and create a safe, stable environment where young people can thrive.

🏡 The Role

As Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers on shift
  • Deliver high-quality, child-centred care
  • Support young people with daily routines, education, and life skills
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Promote a positive, nurturing and structured home environment

🛡 Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Maintain strong safeguarding practice at all times
  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments and behaviour strategies are followed
  • Support staff with de-escalation and behaviour management
  • Complete accurate records and contribute to care planning

👥 Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, supervision and day-to-day leadership to staff
  • Support with rotas, training, and staff development
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding
  • Act as a role model for best practice

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working in a children’s residential setting
  • Previous experience as a Senior or Team Leader (or ready to step up)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
  • Working towards Level 3 in Children & Young People
