Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Sustainability Manager to ensure environmental and social sustainability commitments are delivered effectively across the contract.

This role focuses on driving sustainability performance, meeting client expectations, and embedding sustainable practices into day-to-day operations across a multi-site environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that commitments relating to environmental impact and social value are consistently met and enhanced.

Working closely with internal teams, clients, and operational functions, you will support the delivery of sustainability targets, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation. This is a varied role requiring both strategic insight and hands-on delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage sustainability activities in line with client needs, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Track and report performance across carbon emissions, waste, social value, and wider sustainability commitments.
  • Analyse sustainability data to demonstrate progress, identify risks and highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to integrate sustainability into daily operations.
  • Identify opportunities to align client sustainability goals with wider organisational strategy.
  • Support and train contract teams to understand and deliver sustainability commitments.
  • Coordinate sustainability initiatives, including biodiversity, volunteering, waste reduction, and energy efficiency programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving environmental and social legislation, promoting best practice across teams.

Person Specification

  • Experience supporting sustainability within facilities management environments or the Government/Public Sector.
  • Strong understanding of environmental systems, carbon reporting, waste data, and related areas.
  • Good knowledge of sustainability topics, legislation, and recognised reporting frameworks.
  • Experience of Social Value, TOMs, and the Social Value Model.
  • Proven ability to engage with and collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong data analysis skills with experience in routine sustainability reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence (car/car allowance provided) and willingness to travel regularly to multiple client sites.
