TBM Operator - Utilities Tunnelling

We are currently seeking an experienced Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Operator to join our growing team delivering utilities tunnelling projects across the North West of England. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile infrastructure schemes in a fast-paced and safety-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor TBM equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure tunnelling operations meet project specifications and timelines
• Conduct routine checks, maintenance, and fault identification on machinery
• Work closely with site engineers, supervisors, and support crews
• Maintain accurate records of progress, performance, and any issues
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental standards

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating TBMs on utilities or civil engineering projects
• Valid and relevant certifications/tickets (e.g. CPCS/NPORS or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of tunnelling processes, ground conditions, and machine operation
• Ability to troubleshoot and respond to technical challenges underground
• Commitment to maintaining high safety standards at all times
• Flexible approach to working shifts, including nights and weekends if required
