Are you enthusiastic about supporting young people and helping to shape positive futures?

We’re looking for a dedicated, energetic, and caring Teaching Assistant Level 3 (Flexible Learning Programme) to join our fantastic team.

In this role, you will support pupils who may struggle to access the on-site curriculum, helping them develop strategies to successfully return to the school environment. You will work both on and off site, delivering clear, structured plans and maintaining open, transparent communication with all stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support strategies to improve behaviour, attendance, and student engagement across the school
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on inclusion, pastoral care, and student welfare
  • Develop and implement student support and inclusion approaches, monitoring their impact
  • Build strong links with families, external agencies, and support services to meet student needs
  • Support students by creating and delivering tailored behaviour and learning plans
  • Manage exclusion processes, including administration and return meetings
  • Monitor attendance and behaviour data to inform support and intervention strategies
  • Deliver mentoring, mediation, and pastoral support, including off-site work and alternative provision

What we’re looking for:

  • English and Maths qualifications to at least GCSE (or equivalent) with strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Experience of mentoring or supporting young people, with an understanding of barriers to learning
  • Confident using IT systems (e.g. MS Word, Excel) to maintain records and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of supporting student progress, wellbeing, and educational achievement
  • A team player who will uphold the mission, values and goals of Arc School Ansley
  • A can-do attitude
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs including autism in an educational setting
  • A passion for education and helping students thrive

Opened in 2014, Arc School Ansley is an independent specialist day school in Ansley, a lovely small village.

Our experienced team is dedicated to providing outstanding education to children and young people a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, who may have many associated needs such as; social, emotional and mental health needs, communication needs and cognition and learning needs.

Arc School Ansley is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
