Secondary Teaching Assistant - Full Time
Location: Doncaster
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full Time, Fixed Term until the End of the Academic Year
School: A Secondary School within the Tradiwind Partnership

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school within the Tradiwind Partnership in Doncaster. This is a full-time position starting immediately and continuing until the end of the current academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential in a secondary school environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support to teachers across a range of subjects.
  • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning and improve attainment.
  • Support students with varying educational needs, including those requiring additional learning support.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a productive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.
  • Support the implementation of individual learning plans and intervention programmes where required.
  • Supervise students during lessons, break times, and educational activities as directed.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold the values of the Tradiwind Partnership.


Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience within a secondary school setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
