Teaching Assistant (SEN – 1:1 & Small Groups)

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team for an ASAP start with continued opportunity from September 2026. The role will involve supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions, helping to ensure all children are fully supported to access learning and make progress.

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, adapting learning to meet individual needs
- Deliver and support small group interventions to help raise attainment and progress
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Follow EHCP targets and support plans to ensure consistency and progress
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence in learning
- Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a primary school setting
- Experience supporting children with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent qualification) – essential
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
