Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or severe learning difficulties.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their individual potential within a supportive specialist setting.

• Significant experience supporting children or young people with ASC and/or severe learning difficulties.
• Knowledge of SEN support strategies and tools, including:
  • Visual timetables
  • Sensory integration techniques
  • Augmentative communication methods
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Calm, caring, patient, and consistent approach.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Team Teach training or other positive behaviour management training.
• Experience using PECS, Makaton, or AAC.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures within specialist settings.
