The Opportunity

We're seeking a hybrid Technical Business Analyst / Custom Software Engineer to join a high-performing Software Engineering team delivering a critical healthcare programme for UK Health.

This role sits at the intersection of analysis, engineering, and delivery, giving you the opportunity to shape API-driven solutions, support design and implementation, and ensure high-quality integration across systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering teams to design, analyse, and support delivery of API-led solutions
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, workflows, and integration designs
  • Produce clear documentation including sequence diagrams and API usage guides
  • Support the development and validation of RESTful APIs
  • Test APIs using tools such as Postman and verify implementations against specifications
  • Contribute to data mapping and integration between systems
  • Ensure effective processing and ingestion of data across interoperable platforms
  • Provide technical input into solution design, ensuring alignment with architectural standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, challenging solutions where necessary to maintain quality and compliance
  • Support delivery activities across the project lifecycle in an agile environment


Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in a Technical Business Analyst, Software Engineer, or hybrid role
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g. Postman)
  • Knowledge of HTTP, networking, and certificates
  • Experience with data mapping, system integration, and database concepts
  • Ability to create technical documentation and workflow diagrams
  • Understanding of interoperability and data exchange between systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and challenge stakeholders
  • Experience working in Agile or delivery-focused environments
