The Role

As a Technical Engineer, you will combine hands-on engineering with real-world problem solving, helping shape products that keep people, equipment, and industries safe.

Based in Clydebank, Glasgow, you may also support our worldwide operations through occasional international travel a few times each year (typically up to one week at a time), depending on business requirements.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
  • Friday: 08:00 – 12:30
  • Flexitime arrangements apply

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Become a trusted technical expert

Be the person colleagues and customers rely on when precision, clarity, and engineering insight matter most. You’ll support customers and internal teams by helping them understand the capabilities and applications of our protection technologies, delivering solutions that strengthen safety, reliability, and trust worldwide.

Support product data and ERP configuration

Help build and maintain product data management bills of material and configuration modules within our ERP system. Your work will ensure accurate and consistent data flow from engineering through to production, supporting efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.

Support production and testing activities

Work closely with production engineering and quality teams to resolve issues relating to product builds, accessory fitting, and final testing. You’ll help ensure every unit is assembled correctly, performs reliably, and meets our high standards before leaving the factory.

Attend customer witness testing

Support customer witness testing activities both within the UK and overseas, providing technical expertise and reinforcing customer confidence during on-site testing and inspections.

Deliver technical product training

Provide clear and effective training on our low voltage products, helping customers use our technologies safely, effectively, and confidently.

Collaborate across the business

Work alongside internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll follow industry best practice while maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance. All assessments, recommendations, and technical advice must be fully documented in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

What Success Looks Like

During your first 12 months, you’ll embark on a hands-on learning journey designed to build deep technical confidence and real-world understanding of our products and customers.

You’ll become immersed in the inner workings of our products, supporting production with complex configurations and gaining practical insight into how our solutions are built, tested, and delivered. Time spent alongside our sales managers will give you valuable frontline exposure to how our products are installed, commissioned, and relied upon in the field.

You’ll also develop a strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and gain insight into how technical engineering supports the wider business.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

  • HNC or above in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Typically 1–2 years’ experience in low voltage switchgear or a similar electro-mechanical environment
    (newly qualified candidates and graduates will also be considered)
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and electrical schematic wiring diagrams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of marine electrical systems
  • Familiarity with low voltage switchgear products
  • Previous experience within marine or shipbuilding sectors
  • Knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Office Suite, or other ERP business systems
