Are you a hands-on Technical Manager looking for an opportunity to drive real change within a growing branded food manufacturer?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious SME food business at a pivotal stage of growth, supporting the transition from a SALSA-approved operation into a new purpose-built BRCGS manufacturing facility. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in shaping technical standards, embedding food safety culture, and implementing scalable systems that support long-term business growth.

This role would suit someone who enjoys building systems, improving standards, and driving operational compliance within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Leading the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the site QMS and food safety systems
• Supporting the transition into a new purpose-built BRCGS manufacturing facility
• Driving the implementation and embedding of BRCGS standards to achieve full audit readiness and certification
• Developing and improving scalable technical systems, processes, and compliance controls
• Promoting a strong food safety and quality culture across all departments
• Managing compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, Organic, SEDEX, and regulatory requirements
• Leading internal audits, supporting external and customer audits, and maintaining audit readiness
• Managing CAPA processes, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement activities
• Overseeing allergen management, traceability, hygiene, CCP controls, and product safety systems
• Managing non-conformances, product holds, complaints investigations, and food safety incidents
• Supporting supplier approval, supplier performance monitoring, and specification management
• Coordinating traceability exercises and mock recalls
• Supporting technical aspects of NPD, operational change, and site transition activities
• Leading and developing the technical team while driving accountability and ownership
• Monitoring technical KPIs, compliance trends, and operational risks
What’s required?
• Strong experience within a Technical or Quality Management role within food manufacturing
• Proven experience implementing or managing BRCGS systems and audit preparation
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, traceability, and food safety controls
• Experience improving technical systems and operational processes within a growing business
• Strong track record of driving food safety culture and continuous improvement
• Experience managing audits, CAPA processes, supplier quality, and compliance verification
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience supporting a factory build, site transition, or migration from SALSA to BRCGS would be highly advantageous
