Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Technical Services Manager to support the delivery of high-quality engineering services within a live, critical environment.

Job Overview

This role is responsible for enhancing the delivery of Engineering Services by providing technical subject matter expertise to site operations and by developing and embedding robust engineering processes and procedures. The post holder will play a key role in maintaining high engineering standards across a complex, operational campus.

The Technical Services Manager will lead the Project Integration function, ensuring that operational activities are maintained at all times while supporting the successful delivery of capital projects. The role also contributes to driving operational excellence through strong governance, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Project Integration function across a live campus environment.
  • Identify and secure appropriate engineering resources to support project delivery while minimising impact on business-as-usual operations.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions between project teams and operational site teams, including participation in look-ahead and coordination meetings.
  • Ensure all project-related governance, health and safety, and statutory requirements are implemented and maintained.
  • Develop and sustain effective working relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers and the wider engineering community.
  • Support the Engineering Leadership Team in improving overall site engineering service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency operating procedures (EOPs), contributing to technical solutions for reactive and planned maintenance.
  • Provide clear, structured and timely communication to stakeholders on issues with potential business or operational impact.

Person Specification

  • Suitably qualified in an engineering discipline.
  • Strong experience managing engineering operations within critical environments.
  • Proven experience overseeing project activity within a live operational facility.
  • Demonstrable experience managing high-risk works, including HV and LV electrical systems, pressure systems and confined spaces.
  • Sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Proactive and structured approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
  • Full UK driving licence.
