Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Test Manager to oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle for IT products and services, ensuring high-quality delivery that meets client and project expectations.
This role plays a pivotal part in planning, coordinating and executing structured testing activities across complex IT initiatives. The Test Manager will be responsible for defining testing scope, managing resources, and embedding quality throughout the delivery process.
Working closely with clients, stakeholders and internal teams, the role focuses on driving robust testing standards, clear communication, and continuous improvement. You will take ownership of test governance, reporting and final quality decisions to support successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and define the scope of testing activities.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies and test plans, including test types, tools and environments.
- Estimate time, resources and budget required to deliver testing activities effectively.
- Set up, manage and maintain appropriate test environments.
- Allocate testing tasks to team members and monitor progress against plans.
- Oversee the work of testers, consolidating results and ensuring defects and issues are logged and addressed.
- Communicate testing progress, risks and changes clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Produce final test reports, quality assessments and recommendations to support project delivery.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in IT test management or a closely related role.
- Demonstrable experience delivering large and complex IT projects.
- Strong ability to follow structured testing procedures and deliver outputs to defined standards.
- Broad and solid general IT background.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong collaborative approach when working with cross-functional teams.
- Previous people management or team leadership experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks and experience with test management tools such as Monday . com (beneficial).
