Job Title: Town Planner
Location: Leeds
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected independent planning consultancy in the recruitment of a Junior Town Planner to join their expanding Leeds office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
- Supporting the production of planning statements, reports, and supporting documents
- Undertaking planning policy research and site assessments
- Assisting senior team members with project delivery and client support
- Liaising with local authorities, clients, and consultants
- Monitoring planning applications and responding to consultee comments
- Attending client meetings, site visits, and planning committee meetings where required
- Supporting wider business development and networking activities
- Assisting with the preparation of appeal documentation where necessary
- Managing workloads effectively to meet project deadlines
Requirements
- RTPI accredited degree or relevant planning qualification
- Previous planning experience through consultancy, local authority, or placement year beneficial
- Keen to work towards MRTPI chartership
- Good understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy framework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commercial awareness and willingness to develop professionally
- Competent user of Microsoft 365 products
